Friday Afternoon Fantasy Hero

Later Friday afternoon I played in the Fantasy Hero tournament. This was composed of the continuing adventures of a light-fingered but not malicious traveling performing troupe, Madame Gutunov’s. We got involved with a political situation involving three countries and a diplomatic mission that got waylaid as we traveled. We impersonated the diplomatic mission and found that there were a lot more unanswered questions involved in the mission. I played the troupe’s (stage) magician with a considerable amount of flair (as was appropriate for the part); the other characters included Madame Gutunov, the troupe’s strong man and real leader, the stage magician’s assistant, a potion-selling alchemist, and a strange magician who apparently dealt with necromancy. Since this was a tournament, one player was selected to advance to the finals and two alternates; unfortunately, I was not any of them. Still, I had fun.
