All day Sunday I played in the latest chapter of the continuing adventures of the GenCon Amber group. This is the group of players who, some of them, started playing Amber with Erick Wujcik back in 1986 as playtesters for the game, and we’ve continued every year since. (The first three years of playing from her character’s point of view were written up by Carol Dodd and published in the first issue of Amberzine, published by Phage Press as an adjunct for Amber.) Now we are busy on a little “investigation” for one of the more powerful elders in a very strange land. Well, at least one group of us were doing that; other groups players were engaged in a number of their own affairs. I write up my experiences in the game for Erick, as a record of the game, and those notes can be found later in this page.
